His eyes fluttered open upon the touch of K'yarie. His blurry vision showing him her elegant form. "K'yarie." He frowned. He hated for others, especially K'yarie, to see him so weak. At her question his frown deepened as he fought to stay conscious. "Trial. Just need rest." Was all he spoke, having no energy for bravado or lies. Or conversation as he found himself slipping again.
Another figure came into focus, his face an even less welcome sight. "Vy." He breathed, not wanting the boy to see him like this. But nothing could be done and it frustrated him. He tried to get up, but his legs fails him and he returned to the earth with a thump. Vynter was gone, he did not see Valkyrie in the shadows until she heard her speak. She was here too? What cruel game was the rift playing on him? All he wanted to do was rest and recover on his own. He didn't need anyone fussing over him, didn't need that pompous girl here either. But he was powerless to stop them. Powerless to fend of Vynter as he returned with his herbs and set to work. Powerless to fight of the darkness that invaded his mind was more as he slipped back into unconsciousness.
