Rain and Ivy
Open Rainforest Cliffs
Ruwin the Hopebringer
Currently championing:
#1
Ruwin cursed under his breath as he stumbled along. The burns along his underbelly and legs bleeding fiercely, pain ripping through them with each movement. Each breath proved equal as painful as sharp pain shot through his side from where Rico's horns had rammed him. Though the blood from the peeled, burnt flesh had long since hardened, the damaged deeper in was not so easily stopped. Nothing seemed to be broken but a cracked or bruised rib was still bad. It certainly made breathing difficult. Curse that stallion! Curse the Rift for giving him such a foolish trial!

After the battle with the equally as bullheaded stallion, Ruwin had left the caverns of Ultima. The rain, though somewhat soothing to his flesh, did little to ease his pain. Though it saved him a dip into the saltwater to try and help his burns. He stumbled upon the loose sand and into the forest, seeking shelter. His vision was beginning to blur. And despite the fact that the constant pressure in his head had ceased, his mind was till fogged. Pain and exhaustion made him movements slow and clumsy as he crashed through the undergrowth. His movements were barely conscious thought, step, step, step. It was all his mind focused on.

He retraced a path from memory, one that lead to a massive tree covered in vines. Though from the outside it looked green and thriving, it had long since died, only the leaves of the ivy and vines gave color to its dull drunk. It had become hollowed out overtime, offering a hidden shelter for those who knew where to find the entrance. Dully, he pushed through the vines into the dark quiet of the tree. No rain had found its way inside, leaving a dry place for the stallion to rest. He stood upon shaking legs, his breath labored as his body fought of the shock of his burns. Adrenaline had long since left his body, leaving him to feel the full force of pain and fatigue.

With a grunt he collapsed in the rotting leaves that offered barely a cushion for his frame. Atop him, his spiders crawled, clicking and whirring far more loudly than usual. Were they concerned? Not likely, machines did not truly feel. It was merely him projecting emotion onto them... Ice blue eyes gazed at the world outside of his hideaway, barely registering what they saw. He was so tired. But he could not sleep. He hadn't pulled the vines back over the entrance, or set his machine to stand watch. He desperately fought of the blackness that devoured the edges of his vision. he had to get back up. But his muscles did not respond and slowly, he lost his battle as the darkness claimed him.
