She could not deny the sting of jealousy as Hope announced Roscorro and Rixen as the leaders of this herd. But she held her tongue, hid her disappointment. She could still see benefits to being a part of a herd. But when her companion, Val uttered outraged words and stormed out, she knew that she could not stay. She could not abandoned the arrogant girl to her fate outside the safety of a herd.
When the girl was safetly out of earshot and beyond view she gave a small bow of her head. "I apologize for my friend. I wish the all of you luck, I know the two of you will be fine leaders. I hope, that despite Valkyrie's reaction, that you will not hold ill will towards her. I look forward to seeing how you all thrive and grow and perhaps, one day we will join you. Until then I cannot leave her. I am all she has." She have another bow and made her leave.
