ROSCORRO
Silence. The lack of sound was more unsettling then that of the wind with no touch. Still he moved, eager to be out of the maze. Moving from broken bamboo to broken bamboo he came closer and closer to the entrance of the maze, as of yet unaware of the creatures that hunted him. No, their presence was lost upon him as he hurried along. Their terrible screech nearly stopped the massive horse's heart. He froze as creatures exploded around him. Moving like a wave as they rushed off in search of some other prey.

Instinct scream at him to run, but he could not. His muscles and joints would not respond. Frozen in place by the mysterious magic of the Screechers. He was completely helpless, nostrils flaring as his sides heaved in panic. Move. Move! He scream silently as his body. But it would not. Could not. He was frozen fast. His heart slammed against his ribcage, threatening to burst free. What had happened to him? Where were those creatures that had exploded from the mist and bamboo?

The sensation of being trapped within one's own body was agonizing. Serves you right for seeking more power. The voice hissed. A worthless beast like you does not deserve to live, let alone gain powers it does not understand. He couldn't shake his head like he desired to do as he tried to rid himself of the voice's nagging. He was stuck. His mind capable of going miles a minute while his body remained solidly planted in one place. Was this how he would die? Defenseless as a predator took him in the mist and fog. Would they kill him quickly or feed off of his living body?

Terrible visions of his fate swirling within his mind. He closed his eyes No! This couldn't be. He couldn't die here. Vynter and Eira were waiting for him to return. Wait. He closed his eyes! Opening them again Roscorro tried to move. His ear twitched, but his legs still refused to move. He continued trying. Slowly he found that his could flick the tip of his tail, then his head began to slowly move. Until, after an agonizingly long time, he found that his legs would move once more. They were stiff and his movements were sluggish as he forced himself to move along. His feet felt like lead, his wings, completely limp, dragged upon the ground. He wanted to move faster, to escape the forest. But he could not. Hindered by what ever force had descended over his body. With a determined expression upon his face he pressed on. He was so close to the entrance, just a couple more turns...

"Talk."

I may not be the most important person in your life.
I just hope when you hear my name,
You smile and say "That's my friend!"
