VALKYRIE
She stood in the storm

Of course, Valkyrie hadn’t ventured far from the herd which had gathered. In truth, she could hardly see beyond the crimson rage which had clouded across her eyes. The pulse in her ears was deafening, disorientating. She couldn’t think, couldn’t decide where to go. They were fools - the women here - so quick to pledge their allegiance to neanderthal-headed savages and the goddess who (unless eradication of their species was the goal), had risen each abomination into power had more than demonstrated her blatant weakness - it was a trap… surely.

They would find no glory now, following Roscorro and Rixen’s deceptive, cunning plan, and the fiercely feministic Daughter of Sunnmōre would not commit to any of them support. Her thoughts touched bitterly over K’yarie who stood somewhere in this ivory city, behind her. It was all a mistake - she should have crushed Vynter at the start and returned to the sensibility of her home far away from this grave. That was exactly what the Rift represented she decided angrily as she ground together her teeth, and they were perfect residents. Rejects of Loorien, buried out of memory.

Valkyrie came to rest at last beneath a small protrusion of fallen rock wall. She wanted to run to the furthest corner of this hell and abandon all care for those she’d met, but that was just the problem. The more she stewed, turning thought over thought in her riled up mind, the more she came to realise that she felt fondly for a few. As much as she wanted their punishment through failure, the proud creature wanted to rescue them, to pull them free of the curse they so willingly engaged.

Then, the soft glowing presence of another snatched her eye.

Pinched with upset, her nose turned promptly. “No.” she snapped rudely, hate building like an iron fortress around her heart. Perhaps there was still use for the lesser god who had failed to arrive this time - perhaps Kisamoa hated her also (for she was perfect, and he was foul). Valkyrie scowled childishly and pressed her hardened gaze into the rock against her other side.

and when the wind did not blow her way,
she adjusted her sails.
