Glass half empty, glass half full.
Well either way you, won't be going thirsty.
Count your blessing not your flaws.
Was that movement? There! In the mist! He couldn't be sure if it was indeed the movement or a trick of the eye. He slowed further, uncertain. The action could have very well saved his life. No sooner had the stallion begun to question his own eyes when the world exploded. A shadow lunged towards him from the fog. He let out a scream that would never be heard as his bound tongue released no sound save for the exhaling of air. Rearing back the behemoth gave a mighty pump of his wings, propelling himself further back as he lashed out with his own claws to strike his attacker. The moment his rear legs left the ground his thrust them outward in retaliation as well as he lifted into the air. Landing on the ground once more Roscorro snorted, his heart slamming against his chest as he laid eyes on the Metus for the first time. It was a beast that fight within the horror stories told round the fire. Powerful, cunning, dangerous. Its rotating teeth chilled the dragon-kin to his bones.

Something warm trickled down his chest, causing the brown male to look down. Crimson blood dripped from wounds carved out in the flesh by the monster's claws. It slowly oozed from his being, dribbling down his skin before landing on the hard packed earth with a quiet splat. Had he not reared back, he could have easily lost his eyes, or had his throat slit. This realization caused his heart to pound harder. But he did not scamper away light a frightened beast. No, now able to see his foe the stallion stilled. That calmness that always seemed to fill him brought his heaving breath under control. In the back of his mind that cold voice snarled its own challenge to the Metus. Again Roscorro lowered his head, pointing his sharp horns towards the Metus. he was here to challenge the master of this domain, he couldn't run. Not yet. Around him his piece of hope floated, as if confused by the sudden events. The giant paid the ball no mind as he focused on his attacker. In the brief time he saw it, he made out no sockets for eyes. But it had found him still. It must rely upon sight and scent, or some form of magic that allowed it to detect him. He fell silent once more, his steps careful as he kept his gaze fixed on the Metus. His body was taught, ready to spring if it lunged towards him as he moved sideways to the left. Would it be able to detect him? Again he felt the ground before placing his feet.

As he did so his right paw touched one of his stones covered in blood. One of many now spread out around the field. He quietly lifted in to his bleeding wound, soaking it with more blood. If it relied on smell then maybe he could mess it up a bit? Again he tossed the stone, spreading his scent around as he moved away from his current position. If he could get a little closer then maybe he could strike. Would landing a blow count as a challenge? he had no desire to engage in a full fight with the creature. As terrifying as it looked, it was just trying to survive. He had invaded its land and provoked it. No, it was doing what it was made to do. he couldn't fault it for attacking him. But now wasn't the time to feel sorry for his actions or excuse the Metus. He had to remain focused on the moment at hand or else he risked serious injuring or death. He barely breathed as he waited to see what would happen.

Roscorro

@Rift Presence
OOC: The Metus hit Rosco! Carving deep gashes in his chest that are now bleeding freely. In his panic to get away Rosco lashes out with his claws then kicks out with his hind legs to try and deal some form of damage as he uses his wings to propel him out of reach (it's up to you if they hit). Realizing that the Metus has no eyes he assumes that it realize on scent and sound to get by (or he hopes it does). Finding one of his rocks he covers it in more blood and throws it in hopes of hiding his own advances by spreading his blood around. He's slowly trying to work his way around the Metus to try and launch a surprise attack of his own before getting the heck out of there.(You can decide if he succeeds in getting around the Metus.) ^^
You have my permission to use magic/force against Roscorro.
Maiming and killing is not allowed, though.
