When there's madness, when there's poison in your head
When the sadness leaves you broken in your bed
He had never seen her so diminished as he did now, even in their younger days when they frightened themselves with sea creatures in glass caves. Perhaps because this was something real, something much more terrible than just their wild imaginations. "Are you alright?" he asked a bit breathless from his sprint, hot air exhaling from his nares as he leaned in closer to her embrace, briefly shutting his eyes as the touch comforted the both of them, honey mixed in with a pleasant sweetness that made him smile fondly.

Melita was not diminished though, she was strong, if anything reinforced by the horrible encounter. Instead of cowering or running or tottering behind him (and what was he anyway, just shouts and smiles, nothing very brave at all), she began to plot and plan and lead. His teal gaze swept away from the auburn tangles of her mane to peer into the hub of the chaos, squinting against the shades and the foes they latched onto. "What is it?" he asked, muzzle subconsciously tucking to touch the vial of wolf god blood that yearned so heavily for this place. Somewhere beside them someone shouted out the wolf's name, and it tugged at a memory in the boy planted by his mother's wild tales, but it was hard to hear when everyone was shouting. Instead he listened to Melita, nodding seriously at her suggestion he close his eyes. "Of course I'll come with you!" he exclaimed, a sternness in his voice as he braced himself for whatever dangers just as he shut his teal gaze. There was a brief moment where he thought he saw blue and lightning, but as his lashes curled and his god's blood drove them away, he was instead filled with honey and hope. Crafeully he marched on behind Melita, ears trained to the whispers of her tail, muscles poised to act should she be assaulted once more.

There was something, and despite himself Iskra's eyes flipped open. It wasn't anyone attacking her or him though, but the flash of impressive teeth all around and the wail of ruined phantoms. As the battlefield cleared Iskra saw for a moment the wolf god in all his glory at the center, bedraggled but no less proud. "It's like the tiger," Iskra whispered, awed once more. He but blinked however and the wolf was gone.

Abruptly shouting drew Iskra's ears and as his head snapped to the side he watched a body tumbling from the sky, a monochromatic mare screaming after it, begging for HELP. With the ghosts dissipated Melita was safe for the time being, and it only took a moment to watch the sickening scene of a flightless pegasus for Iskra to know what he needed to do. His wings flexed as he lifted himself from the mud and shot forward, flapping to reach ascension. He was young and small and much slower than he liked to think of himself in his mind, but maybe, just maybe, he'd have the strength to make a difference here. He was not so stupid as to think he could catch the falling stallion, but if he got close enough, his magic might be able to help. So Iskra reached out to superheat the air around Eleos, and if he succeeded, his warmth and control would push against the earth-bound body to drastically slow the bone-breaking descent.
Iskra
I will hold you in the depths of your despair
And it's all in the name of love

@Melita
@Zahra @Eleos tries to superheat the air around Eleos right before he hits the ground to dramatically slow the descent.

Magic or force permitted any time, aside from death.
