When the tree panicked and bolted she back tracked quickly away from the poor thing. Her heart twisted as she watched it's frantic running. Ajax stood at her side pressing against her socked leg. 'Not your fault.' The griffin whispered over and over in her mind. She could not be eased. She had helped in scaring the creature. It was her fault it felt it's life was at stake. He bowed her dual horned head. "I'm sorry." She spoke to no one in particular. After a few moments she lifted her head backup and watched the crowd, tree included. The colt looked as upset as she was sure she did. The other stallion was running at the tree and Valkyrie tried to trip the poor thing!
She raced at the mare ears slammed back and teeth bared. "Valkyrie stop it! Can't you see it's scared out of it's wits?!" She glared at the lady stopping inches from her face. Ajax growled at her side his own teeth bared, hackles, and feathers raised. With a great snort she turned and trotted after the others, Ajax following. She slowed as she reached the colt. "I'm sorry I scared it, I really didn't mean too..." Her voice dripped her remorse as she turned her sad liquid brown eyes on him. "I hope the tree, and you can forgive me?" Her eyes showed her hopefulness as she trotted at his side. She moved with him for a while hoping for an answer before pushing herself into a steady canter. Axaj held back for a couple moments longer eyeing the colt curiously. With a soft call that sounded like a mix between a yip and a coo he raced off after his bonded.
