The pair found themselves wondering the shore Astarot's hooves dragging in the sand as the pair wondered about. The stallion was slowly sinking into claws of exhaustion. Zafir wasn't tired, but she was sick. The blue dragon was having a hard time keeping anything down. He wondered vaguely if she was sick because of him or because of the rift. He turned his scarlet and sapphire gaze towards her resting on his back. His heart twinged with worry as he saw her sound asleep curled in a tight ball. Then he remembered his father's red dragon. As soon as they had entered the rift the ruby male and taken off into the forest. His throat tightened at the thought of losing his bonded.

He sighed softly and turned to look out towards the sea around them. He wondered what strange beasts lurked in the clear blue water. A shiver ran down his spin causing his ears to flicker backwards. Suddenly he wondered if his magic still worked like it once had. 'Zafir sweetheart.' He whispered softly in his head trying to gently rouse the ill reptile. She woke slowly lifting her head before taking off to sleep in a tree a bit away. He watched her go sadly before focusing on his idea.

It had been a while since he had called the magic up, but the familiar warmth and pain took over. His transformation in this world lasted much longer than it ever had in Helovia. Fear coursed through him as he stood unable to move. As he started to wonder if he would ever be able to move again, the transformation was complete. He stared around confused as he realized he wasn't a tiny little blue jay anymore. Now he was a giant song bird looking around with large sharp eyes. 'Wow.' He thought in amazement, 'well this is defiantly an improvement.'

Sharp, beady eyes stare through the crystal from down the beach. A feather-ornamented head cocks, sharp beak clacking in warning a few times (though the temperamental creature is too far away for this warning to mean anything), as the female stopped her foraging though the sand to watch the warped movement in the crystal cave.

And she saw a bird, as large as herself, with a bluish tint. Another Dusk Howler? Perhaps a male? The large, dangerous hen preened herself wildly, before letting loose an excited keen—so true to her species’ namesake.

With long, sharply taloned toes and flapping wings, she half-flew half-sprinted down the sandy shore towards the crystal cave. She stopped on the outside, opposite of the giant bluejay (though, through the crystal, she she still assumed it was a male mate for herself).

Her sharp, long beak pecked repeatedly at the crystal wall, eyes alight with excitement.
