"THE NIGHT IS DARK AND FULL OF TERRORS."

Sidhra was surprised by his efficiency, by how graceful the dance between predator and prey was in the midst of the hunt. It wasn’t the first time she’d seen this dance, but it was certainly the first time she’d been a part of such a thing. It was certainly an experience she’d value.  Sometimes it amazed her that after so many years, there was still so much to be learned - so much new left to be experienced. This made her thankful for the extended lifespan of the fae.  How could one experience all they were meant to experience in only a handful of years?

As she watched his well-coordinated movements, she made her way into shallower waters.  Fish had scattered in every direction - some scattering directly into the jaws and tail of the creature who had come to her aid.  The fae was pleased to see that their plan had worked, and sure enough a fish was spared upon the tail of the sea-dweller.  She felt no guilt about what she’d done, no overwhelming sadness for she hadn’t upset the balance of things.  She’d helped in taking a life, yes.  But it was not a life wasted.

Sidhra raised a hoof uncertainly towards the still moving fish, looking up to meet the sea-dweller’s eerie green gaze, before striking out once with a single hoof.  The fish was finally still, her task complete.  The fae made her way back to the shore, and looked back at the predator before dipping her head in thanks before speaking again in her unorthodox way.  ”Thank you again for your assistance. Should you ever require mine in return, you need only ask.”

She looked back to her flank where a thin river of silver blood still ran down her leg before glancing back to the creature. “I’ll leave you to your meal.”

And with that the little fae turned and retreated into the night.
