• Born in the chaotic, monster-infested world of the Rift
• Raised in an Order of elite monster hunters -- known as Rangers
• Underwent brutal physical training and subjected to intense alchemical processes that altered and mutated his genes to enhance physical performance
• Gene mutations caused: feline pupils, retractable fangs, silver hair, feline stripes, and developed resistance to dark magic
• Raised and trained to hunt and kill the infinite species monsters that prey on the clans of the Rift
• Rangers are regarded by communities as dark and strange and often avoid encounters with them unless necessary
• 'The Path' is a term rangers use to refer to the code by which they operate; the term also refers to the literal traveling of the various parts of the Rift hunting monsters
• Rangers are nomadic and travel the Rift looking for contracts to fulfill

• Contracts usually consist of killing certain beasts harming a living community, eliminating monster nests, clearing monster dens, and even investigating the deaths of clan members at the hand of a potential monster

• During the onset of winter, most rangers who are unable to integrate into normal Rift society, reconvene at with their Order at their respective Keeps to wait out the cold season and train other potential rangers

• Several years ago, Raistlyn accepted a dangerous contract to hunt the Bride of the Wild God - one of the more powerful and vengeful spirits known to the Rift

• The Bride was a foretold young girl who was prophesied to bring great destruction upon the Rift if allowed to fully mature and take her place at the side of the Wild God

• To prevent catastrophe, Raistlyn breaks his code to never hunt 'sentient monsters' and manages to capture the young girl, but in the process the vengeful spirit of the Wild God pursues them both

• Escaped the wrath of the Wild God and unintentionally arrived in Helovia through a portal
• Stranded in Helovia and witnesses the death of the Rift gods
• Two years later enters the portal back to the Rift
• Currently attempting to reunite with those he once knew...
