It was indeed a good thing that the Clydesdale didn’t bring the girl with him. The Magnus Metus had enough trembling need for the one girl that had faced him and lived through it – not once, but twice, and the thought of sinking his churning sea of teeth into small flesh was an idea that had his mouth watering. But even if he didn’t have the option of the young filly, he at least knew that the large creature that dared to face him this time was a feast for weeks. It was another event that caused his teeth to spin in excitement.
He had no eyes, the Metus, and what he lacked for in vision he made up with his sense of hearing and smell. His long snout and tongue helped pinpoint the location of the scent while his ears worked diligently to figure out the direction of the sound – in tandem, it worked well for those unfortunate souls that stumbled into his web. Yet, he remained hidden in the murky shadows, waiting in anticipation for the man to stumble into his trap. All he could do was wait, silently flexing his large claw-hands so he’d be prepared to strike.
