BUT YOU STILL STUMBLE, YOUR FEET GIVE WAY

What is this feeling? Dark and empty, a deep regret that made her bones shiver as she wandered through the caves. Everything around her is blue.  Her glow, the walls, her heart. Shame filled her, becoming heavy with each step.  Is she wrong to want to help? Maybe, but she knows that each side of this coin has their own faults, their own blame. Or maybe the only god who shows his presence is to blame for this mess that she finds herself in.  By now she has heard every side, every story of bloody screams and torn families.

Though slowly, as she traverses through the Rift meeting those trapped here, she finds her thoughts comforting.  Even if she is the only one who held even a shred of worry for them, it would be enough to showcase the humanity and humility that can be found here.  At first glance, her home is a nightmare of someone high on mushrooms. Bioluminescent organisms shifting around in the dark, red eyes peeping at you while you try and find your bearings...if she hadn't have lived it she wouldn't have believed.  Why, its really no wonder why the Helovians are dashing around with wide eyes and pinned ears.  Here, if you are not careful and aware, it is quite the dangerous place.

But she really has found beauty in this nightmare, a dream within a dream.  The salty oceans and hidden sweets of the Keys. The mossy cliffs of the rain forest. The clans of rays that glide through the sea like oceanic eagles.  They always bring a smile to her face, even in the most desperate of times.  Her aqua eyes shifted upwards, watching the marine life float around the glass-like crystal ceiling. The urge to dip her body into the sea blossomed in her chest. And so she headed towards an opening in the walls, the smell of salt causing her eyelids shutter with each inhale. Her meandering gait extending, the sound of her hooves making contact with the stony floor creating a beat that bounced off of the walls. It wasn't long before her beat was accompanied by the sound of drifting water.

It was cooling against her skin, creating goosebumps along her legs. She stood, knee deep, with her eyes closed and a melodic hum coming from her throat.  A lullaby, one that her mother sang in times of distress.  Back then, distressing times were bedtime and when she had nightmares. Her worries seem to be much larger then when she was younger.  Still, she used her mothers song to bring a moment of peace to her otherwise confused and twisted life.  In the water cave, it has a haunting tune, and she hummed with a smile upon her lips.
