”No.” The word was uttered with such rudeness, that Hope actually laughed at the sound. The laugh was calm, pleasant, despite the lack of understanding where her frustration came from. If she wanted, the Deer creature could pry into her mind and see for herself what thoughts the mare felt for her decisions, but there was no fun in doing that. And so, despite Valkyrie’s attempts to ignore Hope’s presence, the large deer edged closer, the warmth of her smoking eyes and antlers seeping out to warm the mare from the chill of the wind and to dry her from the rain.
”You are upset with my decision.” She announced thoughtfully, cocking her head and contemplating the mare before her. ”Others were upset, I could tell as well, but none as horrifically mortified as you. Why is that so?”” She mused, her head lifting to the skies to allow the rain to fall upon her face as though it would give her the answers she sought. But she knew, deep down, that Valkyrie would be the only one that could answer it. So Hope continued to muse internally. Did she have something against Rixen and Roscorro?
The more she thought about it, the more she realized that Valkyrie didn’t seem to acknowledge any of the males in the gathering. With this knowledge, she lowered her head and pinned those smoking and glowing eyes upon the mare a soft (perhaps cunning) smile graced her lips. ”You do not like males?” Her voice was soft, but it held an edge that demanded her be acknowledged – a side of Hope no one had seen just yet. For she was the opposite of Kisamoa in every aesthetic way, but there was a part of her that strove for justice just as he, a part of her that demanded respect and those to work with her to create a better place just as Kisamoa did.
“Talk.”
