Mika was still very new to this world. Everything he saw was previously unknown to him, every feeling, every smell and sound was for the first time. Every sensation; brand new. He had not even begun speaking, although he seemed to understand the words spoken to him. Such a small thing, was he, but adorned with enormous wings. Wings so big he could not even fold them properly on his back. They kept slipping off and the primary feathers where often trailing on the ground behind him.

The little colt was walking behind his mother, fully concentrated on not stumbling on his unruly appendages. Every time one of his wings slid of his back he struggled to lift it back up, but his muscles were not developed enough to carry the weight of all those big feathers. He jerked as hard as he could and the rustle of the wings sent dust particles from the feathers into the air. He had learned from the very start that his wings were not only an encumbrance for his undeveloped muscles, but also a hazard for his nose. When the scent of his feathers found its way into his nostrils he always sneezed and every time he sneezed he nearly toppled over. All this made of a rather awkward walk and if Alysanne had not been stopping to scratch every once in a while he would have had trouble keeping up with her.

Suddenly he stepped on one of his heavy wings and at the same time he felt a sneeze coming on. This time he could not save his footing. Mid sneeze and stumbling he crashed into his mother’s hind legs. For Mika, being so small, it was like running into a wall. He bounced back and sat down on his haunches like a dog - wings splayed at his sides. He was not hurt, merely a bit chocked and confused, but he shook his head and peered up at his mother with big, teal eyes.

It seemed he wanted to ask her something. Maybe it was something like: ”Why are you itching, mother?”

@Alysanne
ooc; I hope it is alright that he crashed into her x3
