The splashing from the fae did not work on every fish but it worked on a few - causing them to panic and swim towards the predator waiting for them instead of back out to the safety of the ocean. He could hunt them there too, of course, but the mare would be unable to help him in those depths unless the life she wanted to help take was her own.
With a flash, his tail continued to prove its worth as it speared a rather sizeable, blue-glowing fish on the tip. He curled the tail around, examining the catch (it would make a hearty meal) before twisting his tail to show the result of their efforts to his companion. He grunted, wordlessly giving his appraisal of her help. The fish flopped desperately, speared through the side but not quite dead, and the glowing green eyes of Nostromo watched the fae carefully. He was uncertain about what came next - was it enough for her trial to help him catch the fish that would be killed or would she need to deliver a killing blow herself? |
