Stolen Life

A Portal opened, and long-dormant plants exploded to life. They threw their ominous, unhealthy fluorescence to the shadows with wild abandon. Despite their sickness, they were still alive. Death had been so close, a promise just breaths away.

But, now, these shadows sharpened as the odd light grew with each new explosion. They reach and grasp and suck and pull. It is nothing but reckless degeneracy; naught but gluttonous theft.

There is no care given, though. No thought to right or wrong. Only to survival, and these sharp shades will persevere.
