The HUNGER GAMES part of the plot is purely OOC in the sense that no one is going to die of dysentery, but it's IC in the sense that it represents the power struggle between the followers of the Gods. To make it more fun, you can consider what happens in it 'real', a sort of dream tournament where all participants drop into deep slumber in the real world, and then duke it out in the dream. For extra trippiness, let them be humans in the dream!
In order to not favor an already well-spoken for God, and also give less spoken for Gods a chance to stay in the running, the HUNGER GAMES is locked into equal representation between the Gods.
Honestly, we could've just rolled a four-sided die and achieved the same result, but we thought this was a bit more fun. So, what, then is the benefit to signing your character up for this?
We're not telling you that right now. But there is a benefit. ;)
How it works
The HUNGER GAMES run twice a month, on the 15th and 30th, with the first run being on August 30th.
There's 24 slots per run, meaning each God gets 8 Champions. If a God lacks characters signed up, they'll receive support in the form of anonymous ponies or Rift creatures.
