The North

Seek no shelter,
Seek no warmth,
Seek belonging.

The snow fresh,
The cold biting,
Winds rushing through the mountains.
My paws did not sink,
They floated on the snow.
My wings spread,
I felt not the cold,
Not the wetness,
I felt comfort.
I knew that I belonged here.
Deep in my bones,
There was no bitterness,
There was a warm feeling.
I belong here,
In the mountains,
Of the North
