another mind, another soul, another body to grow old.
it's not complicated.

Otem wondered if, in the chaos, Aurelia was going to forget her promise to question or challenge the things motives. She dirt coloured woman wouldn't have judged the golden one if she had; after all, losing or having your magic tampered with on top of worry about the unborn life you carry inside of yourself is more than enough reason to forget your head. And, in the face of such a theft, reasons seemed not to matter much.

But, true to her word, Aurelia did not forget.

She did ask and demand.

And then she ran.

"Wait-" Otem cried, picking up a swift canter and following Aurelia into the scrappy underbrush that surrounded them. Quickly though Aurelia's golden form retreated farther ahead than Otem's long limbs could catch. Perhaps it was one of those mother things, like how they could life cars when they felt as though their child was in danger. Otem hadn't seen anyone move that fast. Or, more likely, she was just a terrible tracker and despite her long legs had just not been able to keep pace with Aurelia's erratic gallop.

"Aurelia?" Otem called, coming to a halt. Her nostrils flared as her bi-coloured gaze moved from tree to tree, trying to spy a smear of golden somewhere out in the darkness.  "Aurelia!" But only her own echoing voice returned back to her.

Feeling that queezy sensation of longing in her stomach, Otem spun around frantically. She was disoriented and now had no idea which way she'd even been coming from. With a gulp of air, the tribrid jumped into the sky, spreading her wings and lifting herself above the tree tops. She thought that perhaps from a higher vantage point she could spy Aurelia below, but the canopy of trees was far too dense to track the pregnant mare's movements.

Aurelia was gone.
