Eye's slowly crept open as he stirred from dizziness, Each vertebrae popped as the man stretched out upon the ground. The portal must have pulled him through a little harshly, the sheer force of it consuming his own consciousness. Portal travel would never be easy, but perhaps it's something one would look into, How to cure the travel sickness one received upon movement.
He must have been out for some time, as he could feel his hair stuck to him in an uncomfortable manor. The rains. A season he remembered all too well.
He wandered aimlessly, never leaving the spot which he had landed. His natural compass seemed to be broken, Something that would clear though in time. Letting the light -from his own cranium, guide him, he drunkenly walked in what he thought was a straight line, only for his instruments to tangle sending him chin first onto the damp, uneven ground. oomph. His breath was momentarily taken from him, detritus was un earthed as he fell, revealing something gleaming in his wake. He blinked.
Stretching his neck; and only his neck as he remain upon the ground, sprawled out like a body being readied for post mortem, accept he was the wrong way up. He reached for this item, gently picking it up with velvet lips, he pulled the silvery thread towards himself as he too righted his stance pulling his hefty torso back upon the wobbly stilts. The silvery object easily came with him, revealing a tear drop gem, the same blue as his eyes. He froze momentarily. What was this? What was it doing here and most of all whom had it belonged to before hand.

Aimless.  Her whole demeanor screamed it as she meandered around the portal opening.  Well, not completely.  She had a goal in mind, but it seemed like a silly thing to strive for.  A dangerous thing.  But still her ears swiveled and her eyes rolled, hoping to catch a tiny glimpse of a Helovian that has malicious intentions.  Then her confusion and frustration would make more sense.  She was pulled in two directions, a need to protect her home weighing on her like bricks, but also a need to help those trapped and scared.  She almost dared to wish that she could just see in black and white.  But that would make her more like....him.

She comes here often, staring into that dark and dank thing like it is going to give her the answers she so desperately needs.  From behind the trees, she watched it pulse and shift, her profile holding a blank expression.  She shifted, turning away from the inky abyss in the sky...and noticing a body on the ground.  Her lips formed a frown, silently watching as the thing stood like a newborn, knees clanking together.  He must've just arrived.  She followed him, kind of.  The man seemed almost drunk in his movements, including the hard tumble he took.  She groaned inwardly, hoping that she was about to help a native.  She didn't need more on her plate.

She stepped from the shadows, her glow coming into play at full force.  With her head lowered, she nickered softly as to not to spook the confused man.  "Hello?  It would appear that you need some help.  Are you from here..or there?"

There’s a glow—a familiar one to these greedy and starved shadows. It’s been a glow that has been just out of their warping, mutating reach. They’ve been to weak, emaciated by the loss of the Rift’s hearts, to be able to touch such a glowing creature.

But now? Now they can feast.

He dusted himself off with a shuddering momentum, sending small droplets of water into the air, as he righted himself.
Two somewhat shining orbs blinked in the voice's direction. Though his ears be big, it took him a while to register what they had said. He blinked again, almost confused. ""I dont..." He couldn't even finish his own words when his stilts trembled yet again. Why was the world still spinning yet he was clearly on level ground? Perhaps his elongated audits caused him to loose balance more easily.
Righting oneself he stood as proudly, almost stand off-ishly, As he faced the painted one. ""I dont need Anyones help" His voice came of harshly and stubborn. ""I am clearly from here" He rolled his eyes and made a move in a way that gestured to his glowing coat. ""Why would I glow so much if i wasn't from the rift?" This time his words spoke truly. As he honestly didn't know what this one was talking about. What others? There were only Riftians here, right?
He went quite.
""What do you mean by 'Them'?" He asked sincerely slightly warming up to the one stood in front of him.
""Are you one of Them?"

"Talk."

"Mennai in eleni ier ier á cala."

She watched silently, propping a foot up in casual disinterest as the stallion tried to right himself.  Her ears flickered back with his words, an audible humph coming from her throat.  Fine.  If he didn't want her help then she won't offer it again.  Sill, she stood, watching as he tried to take control of his body, turning himself to show off his own glow.  It didn't impress her, not entirely.  Just because he glows like something of the Rift doesn't mean he is from here.  She has seen Helovian's that were mutated. With a shrug of her shoulders, she went to turn away, to leave the dizzy man with his words.

But his question stopped her.  She could hear his sincerity as he asked who "they" were.  She flexed her neck to meet his eye, a smile forming.  "How long have you been out?" With a head shake, she turned back, leaning her rump against a tree as she delve into the happenings of the Rift. "Yes, I am native.  And we have....visitors. Strangers from another land.  They were dumped here by the portal.  With each day, the Rift wakes just a little bit more, and I think that we have them to thank. However, there is a war brewing.  Most of us hate them, and they certainly didn't appreciate being stranded here.  You picked a hell of a time to take a nap."

She sighed, unable to control her distaste for the attitudes of both parties.  She is a simple creature, wishing for peace and quiet to fill her days.  She isn't ready to choose a side. "My name is Moä Te."

He blinked.
Letting her words sink in as he stood there somewhat dumbfounded.
How long had he been out? Why were these intruders here?
His face started to crumple with anger the more he thought about this. Weighing up the days since darkness fell.
""This was all them wasn't it? They caused all of this!" He went into a frenzy, pacing around in a small circle.
War.
A single word that stood out to him when she had been talking, but he had been out of it, thinking about when his family had been killed, when the land had died.
""I was not taking a nap!" he snapped at her, his nose just mere inches from hers. His breath came ragged and fast. Panic was beginning to settle in. He didn't understand what was truely going on here. Why had they invaded their lands, What was here that they wanted so much? That was why one invaded right? They always wanted something from the opposing lands, always wanting more, could never just settle for what they have, make trade deals or do things peacefully.
But she had said the land was waking up. Perhaps He had a use of them for being here. Perhaps they were just pawns on a board game.
Turning and walking away he mumbled things to himself, also hoped she might follow him.
""They call me Himeldir" was all he said as he began to make his way deeper into the Rift.

"Talk."

{[OOC: We could end it here and carry on else where in the rift? but he would like her to follow! ]}

Her ears pinned back at the closeness he chose, holding back the urge to dig her teeth into his sinus cavity.  Though she didn't attack, she didn't stop her lips from curling back. Sure it was awful news to arrive to, she didn't think she deserved the irritating reaction. Her head shook, trying to shake away the uncomfortable feeling of anger. She let her ears ease up, catching his name. Himeldir, a pleasant name.  Her eyes followed him as he stomped away, groaning and stepping out to catch up.

"Now, hold on.  Don't think you can snap at me and walk away.  Where are you going?" The girl trotted to catch up, keeping her distance. "They didn't cause anything.  There's a lot of shit going on." Her voice became quiet, murmuring her last words.

Sighing, she placed herself behind the stallion.  Wandering with him for a while is better then wandering by herself. She watched the ground as she walked, intentionally snapping branched under her hooves.  Each snap made her wince, but the sound filled the silence that she seemed to be forever surrounded with.
