In the eastern region of Loorien, neighboring against Helovia, lies an ancient land where it is said horses were first born. The kingdom has fallen multiple times to the acts of mortal wars born of greed and hatred. Even now the land is deserted - overrun with shades, bleak figures of the dead.

BORDERS

THE GATEWAY
The border that divides Isilme from the rest of the world, this is the most frequent route travelers take in and out. Towering pine trees crowd the way down this sloping entrance, but the packed forest provides excellent shelter. It is advised not to linger here very long as you never know what to expect, or who. New members can choose to wait in this area to find their proper place in Isilme or they can pass through and plead at the edges of the herds within.

ESTABLISHED LAND

LUSH OASIS
Where was once a flooded prairie is now an oasis of life. Sawgrasses sprout from a still mushy ground, and in autumn the lands can be quite dreary, colorless and depressing with its cold wetness. But when spring comes, it explodes into a myriad of colors: flowers and birds alike show their colorful petals and plumages. Summers sport plentiful of grassing opportunities, and winter is actually quite mild - as the ground freezes, even the sloppiest parts of the Oasis can be reached. At the edge of the lands lies a willow grove that is slowly expanding as the ground grows steadier. Underneath these long, weeping leaves many horses can be found, since it is the ideal setting for quiet conversations.

MOONLIT TIDES
Silver sand still meets a sapphire ocean, a beach of softest sand that clings to Isilme's coast. For a moment, all may seem as it always was; dolphins arc at the horizon, sunlight flashing on their wet skin... But even this haven took a hit. The northern parts are uninhabitable, torn asunder and wrecked by storms. The ocean ate its way all up to the forest - a forest that is still regrowing since it was burned down by vindictive equines some years ago. And even in the south can the effects of the storm be felt. In winter, the air's bite is harsher, the ocean colder, the grass scarcer. Driftwood is scattered across the sands, a remainder of the storm days when the sea vomited its content onto the land. But even this can be forgotten, maybe even forgiven, when the sun glitters on the waves, shimmering and whispering of eternal beauty to those that watches. A new feature on the land are three glass statues - the tallest and most fine-featured is a unicorn, flanked by an equine and a pegasus.

MYSTIC WOODLANDS
Still ancient, still mysterious, still vast - so towers the Mystic Woodlands at Isilme's southwest edge. The old heart of the forest is still intact. Giant tree trunks flank hidden paths, lush undergrowth guides those that dare travel into the forest's depths. Some of the trees are hollowed out, and the thickest branches form intricate walkways. Some cryptic designs are left by a species unknown or forgotten, but their work remains: a network of paths to take, not only on the ground itself. The outer edges of the Woodlands took a turn for the worse at the sundering. Barren and dead trees stretch their gnarled limbs towards a dreary sky, and the wind howls mournfully. For a hundred yards or so does the forest look nothing but a graveyard, with the massive heart towering on the horizon.

WILDWING ISLANDS
Previously unexplored, these islands reside off Isilme's southern cost. It was the fleeing Pegasus that found them, and brought their race there. Tropical climate mark these islands, even though several of the smaller are naught but rocks and cliffs. The air is moist and oppressing, heavy and promising of rain. Beneath the massive greenery resides danger in the form of earthbound predators, but in the winding mountains that some islands sport there is a relative safety. But beware the largest of islands - it is an active volcano, and when in its shadow, one should never be too relaxed. Despite this, it is the ideal haven for the Pegasus, since to reach it by hoof is tedious work. Although some God seemed to take equality into consideration - a sand ridge runs below the ocean's water, enabling earthbound creatures to partially walk across.

NEUTRAL TERRITORIES

BOAR CAVES
Set underneath an icy overhang at the mountain range's foot, the Boar Caves houses what may be called the Fever Creek's origin. Now, the creek is gone, but the cave remains. A winding tunnel with air that gradually warms opens up to a system of caves, full of hot mineral springs. Some are scalding hot, some are deep, some are bubbling, some foaming... It's a strange little underground world, and one of peace. Many tired warriors come here to rest their aching bones and soak their wounds in the hot waters. Strange glowing stones, and the occasional crack filtering in sunlight, banishes the darkness from the cave system, leaving it in a perpetual and artificial twilight.

EMERALD RUINS
Once the majestic empire of the Equines, the valley is now blocked by red debris. As the lands were swept over by a magical tidal wave, the cliffs towering above shattered and crashed down. Scattered over broken grass lies huge slabs of rocks, settled into the mushy ground. The lake that once inhibited the central parts is no more and the thundering waterfall turned into several streams that flow among the rocks. The water is icy cold, streaming down from frozen expanses to the north. In springtime, the melt-water creates a hazard for anyone traveling here. In the years to come, emerald moss and vines will slowly take over the rocks as the ground dries and settles.

HOLLOW MANOR
Already broken at the time of the magical sundering, the Hollow Manor now looks even more ruinous. Somehow the strange castle survived the magical explosion, and to the grief of many, it's greedy, grumpy guardian survived too. The manor looks even more foreboding and uninhabited then it did before, and parts of the walls have fallen down completely. But the cellar seems intact, and from down there, the old guardian will sometimes come forth when a mortal comes to ask for gifts - and his price is never anything but too high...

SERONIA DREAMSCAPE
The magic of the world runs strong in this dreamer's landscape - for it shifts and morphs depending on who weaves a dream within it. No one knows the true face of Seronia Dreamscape, for the chameleon land will be anything you want it to be. Maybe you want to fight an epic battle on the rim of a volcano, or frolic through tall grasses, chasing butterflies? The Dreamscape can become anything you want, but beware... Something has gone askew in the magical currents than run beneath the enchantment, and some claim the landscapes have taken a turn for the worst, and become unstable.

SKELETON PIT
The graveyard of Isilme still remains a tragic monument. Blasted even larger when the Originals offspring fell, the hole carved in the face of earth gapes hungrily at the sky. Fresh bones litter the crater, scavengers pilfer and steal what decaying meat they can still find. It's a truly gruesome place these days, and even though the weather may be fine, the wind always has a cold bite to it. No one that ventures here leaves without being reminded of how fragile life is, and how suddenly it may end.

SKY MIRROR
Nestled in the cold mountains of the north lies a place that was previously unknown, and unreachable. But following a narrow, winding path, you can now reach it. It's a vast, clear lake that seems to never freeze. Silent lies the blue water, refreshing to drink even if it burns so coldly in your throat... The surface seem to be a perfect mirror, reflecting the sky at all times.

THE FROSTSPINE
Once a large range of red mountains, it's now a place of cold, dangerous beauty. Parts of the cliffs fell down into the Valley, and the Glacial Wall expanded, claiming in the mountains as its own. Glaciers rest atop the snowy peaks, deep valleys suffer the danger of avalanches. But no one will ever deny its beauty when the pale winter sun shines upon the vast snowy expanses, frost refracting the light and causing the snow to shimmer. Truly, it is a place of beauty - but also of danger. Cracks in the glacier are hard to spy, and usually you notice them when it is already too late...

VEILED CAPE
Jutting out from the mainland's southern beac and into the roaring sea is the Veiled Cape. There is a constant atmosphere of mystery and secrecy, of forbidden romances and of ancient love, for fog is constantly blanketing the lands. Though the peninsula is now more wind-whipped than ever, lovers still find their peace within the misty embrace of nature. Here, they can forget the atrocities of the world - or maybe it is here that they commit them. This seems to be the only place capable of brining forth pregnancies.

SPECIES SPECIFIC

ETERNA
Duck beneath an arched tunnel of overgrown vines and flowers to find a world that seems unreal. Rippling across the softly sloping land are fields of spring-fresh clover that keep year round. A gentle wind whistles across the lush sea of greenery, rattling through the pale branches of the shade-giving birch trees. Occasionally a breathtaking sparkle will glint beneath the sunlight, revealing the intermittent trees of pure silver and gold. Yet perhaps most amazing is the darting colors and chattering forms of dragons. The wild creatures are abundant here, roosting in the trees and frolicking in the skies, kept warm and safe at the base of the sleeping volcano in the North. A haven only for the Equines.

PERPETUA
A bounty of whipped towers and cascading waves of pale fluff. This place exists above the earth, above Isilme and most of the world. A place of endless clouds in all shapes and variety, sparkling with all the colors the sun brings as she shifts from day to dusk and falls into glittering night. Little of the blue sky can be seen below once you break through the cloud cover, and then it stretches to all corners of the horizon. Never fear tiring wings for these clouds will hold your weight, if but for a while. A haven only for the Pegasus.

ULTIMA
In the time of fading day to twilight, when the moon pulls the waves from the shores of the white beaches there is a glittering mouth of rock. In the depths of the cool stone entrance a network of caves carries on deep into the underbelly of the ocean, piled with stalactites and stalagmites dripping with sea water and gilded with a variety of jewel growth. Yet most incredible are the randomly dispersed bubbles of transparent crystal in various colors, giving an almost glass-clear view into the ocean outside and her bounty of life. A haven only for the Unicorns.

ISILME HISTORY

written by kae

i. The Beginning

Decades ago, before even the memory of Isilme's ghosts, this land once stood raw and empty. But the gods themselves sought to fill it: from the earth they sculpted Nieque, first among the equine; seafoam dancing along the shore became Cinnoru, wisest of the unicorns; and the wind's mighty voice gave rise to Sepagus, the bold winged stallion. Fire burned hot in all three beings, drawing out both shadows and light. Throughout Isilme these mighty lords spread and sired many of their kind, filling the land with life and light. Magic flowed strong in the lifeblood of every horse and the three kings, nearly gods themselves, lived longer than many now could imagine. But they were proud; their children waged war in their names, and blood flowed across Isilme like the tide. Sepagus, Nieque and Cinnoru waged their final battle known as the War of the Three, in the place known today as the Skeleton Pit, and although each strove to prove his worth against the other, they were created as equals, and as equals they died.

The gods looked on at the destruction wreaked by their children, and they grew angry. For many days the sun darkened, and the grasses withered. All the death caused by previous wars paled in comparison to what came next, as horses grazed the fallow land to naked soil and perished. When at last the sun returned few remained, and those few were bitter. The herds each blamed each other and promised vengeance for the deaths of their loved ones. Many fled, and the three races of horse spread into the far corners of the world.

ii. Equine Empire

In time those outside Isilme forgot theirs vows while those within grew ever more hateful. Those who survived the fury of their gods had grown in number and began to amass armies and form alliances. By year eleven a mare called Black Minx, a descendant of Nieque himself, ruled the Emerald Valley where the equines held power, while Ignatius the Firesword ruled the unicorns' beaches and the fierce pegasus Naryl called the Cliffs her home. These rulers watched over herds that rivaled their ancestors' in size, and in time began again the savagery that ruined those mighty three.

The first bloody strokes fell when Ignatius attempted to invade the Valley, but his forces were driven back. He then offered peace to the equines and with their help turned a great invasion force upon the Cliffs. During this battle the Firesword fell, slain by Naryl who carried his horn until her dying day as a symbol of the victory. Weakened as the battles left his forces, it seemed no one would step up to claim his crown; however, leadership eventually fell to an unlikely young colt called Nepdon, and for a time the Tides saw peace. Satisfied with defending their home against outsiders, the pegasi roosted quietly in the red mountains and the equines retreated to the valley - but peace would not last.

Not long after returning home from her failed campaign, Black Minx discovered a strange cavern had opened up beneath the Valley's waterfall. Alongside the ambitious stallion Adalwulf, she explored the strange room. What they found in the cavern proved to be remarkable: a statue of Nieque himself that protected the Valley from natural distasters and kept Isilme's natural magic in balance. Unfortunately the two explorers were careless, and in their haste they knocked the relic to the floor, shattering it. Chaos was unleashed upon the Valley as three magic orbs contained within escaped, and disaster after disaster befell the Valley.

With the equines weakened, other creatures began to stir within Isilme's borders. The skull-wearing stallion Oblivion amassed a gang of nefarious followers and set his sights on the Mystic Woodlands, meant to be a place of peace under the careful rule of the pegasus Haliaetus. But mere days after Haliaetus had declared the forest a safehaven for all races Oblivion arrived and slew the winged lord, claiming the forest for his own pack of mixbloods and mongrels. Thus year twelve began in blood, and more was promised to come as the equines scrambled to restore their home.

While Oblivion made himself at home in the forest, Adalwulf and Black Minx searched for the missing orbs. Luckily their herd proved stronger than the curse that rained down fire over the Valley and opened sinkholes up beneath their feet: two mares, Requiem and Sunchaser, managed to find two of the orbs scattered in the farthest reaches of Isilme. With Black Minx herself in possession of the third, the equines had but one task remaining: slay a dragon on Nieque's altar.

With heavy spirits the equines searched for one of their own willing to sacrifice a very piece of his soul to their cause. They were weak without a doubt, and from the cover of the trees Oblivion watched them with hungry eyes. Despite the hell the Valley had become he wanted it; he craved power, and sought to exploit the weakness in Black Minx's herd while he had the chance. The Demonking's forces began moving covertly, exploring the Valley's borders and learning its weaknesses. Among them were refugees from the Valley herd itself: the appaloosa stallion Kaemon, and his white dragon Akira.

Akira's fate was sealed the moment the pair met Adalwulf in the Fever Creek. The white stallion was larger than the appaloosa, and more desperate: along with his own green dragon Nidhoggr, he captured Akira and with her fled back to the Valley, where he slew the white in Nieque's cavern and lifted the curse. Mere moments later Oblivion's army filled the Valley with their haunting cries, and as sweet rain soothed the smoldering craters the equine herd fought for their broken homeland.

How bitter the loss must have been when Oblivion stood victorious atop the wreckage.

iii. Pegasus Palisade

With the wicked pegasus Mesecoth standing in place of Black Minx, the Valley fell on hard times. Its defeated leaders gathered on the fringes of Isilme and hatched a plan to retake their home, but lacking the forces necessary they were forced to wait - that is, until the rogue known as Sylvanas Windrunner, a former captive of the very hounds now holding the Valley, offered Black Minx her aid. Alongside the Windrunner's band of mercenaries, the outcast remnants of the equine herd attacked Oblivion's stronghold in the Woodlands and forced him out. It was not their home, but it was a start. With the faithful warrior Akor named lead of the new territory, Black Minx began scheming to reclaim her stolen throne.

While Black Minx planned to take back what she'd lost, old magic stirred within the Cliffs. The small pegasus herd still living there had been quiet while it watched Isilme overcome by chaos, and soon more chaos came knocking at the red rocks: a mysterious cavern opened here as well, and within it the winged horses found another altar. This demanded little sacrifice though; in order to summon the ancient magic chained within, they must find specific items to unlock the shackles. Boldly then they went in search of a dragon's fang and a single scale.

The pegasi spread out across Isilme, and under the shadows of their wings the oppressed Valley herd rose up and overthrew Oblivion. Black Minx regained her place as queen, and at her side the loyal Adalwulf ruled as king. A time of peace was declared between the Valley and the Woodlands, now ruled jointly by Akor and Sylvanas Windrunner, who demanded a safe haven for her warrios as payment for services rendered in the battle agaist Oblivion. As for Oblivion himself: the Demonking hardly fled with his tail between his legs. No; after waiting just long enough for his forces to heal, he unleashed hell upon the Moonlit Tides.

A quick and brutal battle gripped the unicorns' shores that had for so long struggled to maintain peace amidst Isilme's constant power struggles. Young Nepdon had not proved to be an inspiring leader, and his dwindling herd fell hard beneath the hardened beasts led by Oblivion. The young lord was forced out, banished, and the Demonking found a new home - still a very real threat to the rest of Isilme's populace. Back in the Valley Adalwulf grew hungry for yet more power and led a campaign to take the Cliffs, but even distracted as they were the pegasi managed to drive him back. The balance of power settled for a time - before shifting radically again.

Although he had never proven to be anymore than a brash young idealist, the young stallion Nepdon found his calling in rallying the unicorns to war. Mere weeks after Oblivion took his home the Raindancer took it back, leading a revolt in the Tides that forced Oblivion's forces back to the outskirts of Isilme, where they paused to lick their wounds and plot their next moves. Thus ended year twelve, with the equines and their allies poised to take advantage of the power afforded by friendship.

Year thirteen began with yet another battle: when the young mare Lesse was slaughtered by the pegasus stallion Rana, Sylvanas called upon her allies in the valley and led yet another charge on the Cliffs. This time they won, driving the feathered beings from their home. Satisfied, Adalwulf placed the old warrior Gideon atop the Cliffs and settled back into his role as Valley king, although his queen had by now mysteriously vanished. The scattered pegasi were force to continue their quest without a home base.

After the many battles of the past year, a time of peace settled across Isilme. Amassing what power they could, the various herd leaders cast wary eyes upon each other and felt their weapons uneasily, each planning for the next invasion and checking any weaknesses in defense. Meanwhile, a secret organization of various races who opposed the constant hatred and the fighting gathered to oppose the wars. This group ended up waging a small war if their own against an army of pygmy goats who captured many of Isilme's foals and turned them into goats as well. While those in the herd lands knew little of this strange war, the children and the group members involved never forgot.

Soon after the kidnapped foals were restored to their proper forms and returned to their parents, the gods returned briefly to alter the land's history once more. This time, however they acted not with rage but kindness: a single member of each herd, someone shown to be compassionate and wise, was gifted with the magical ability to heal wounds. Soon after this surge in magic another miracle occurred: the three original stallions, forefathers of all horses in Isilme, returned from dead and walked once more amongst their children. With the return of their demi-gods, the herds grew even more restless than before.

Weary of living in Isilme's outlands, the stranded pegasus herd tried valiantly to reclaim their home in the Cliffs but were driven back by Adalwulf's ever-growing empire. With the Woodlands, Cliffs, and Valley all under their control, the equines proved a force to be reckoned with indeed. While he watched them from the Tides - Isilme's last free territory - Nepdon grew concerned and decided to deal a preemptive strike against the Valley. His invasion force failed horrifically, however, and before the defeated soldiers had even returned home Adalwulf arrived on the way back from his battle in the Cliffs to set the Tides ablaze. Nepdon was driven out, his herd thoroughly crushed, and the equines stood at the head of the mightiest empire Isilme had ever seen. The racist stallion Gunslinger was given control of the Moonlit Tides and under his rule all unicorns were driven out, forced like the pegasi to make a living on scraps and unwanted strips of land.

While none of them still held any real power, the Original Three still made their presence felt by participating in the wars amongst their children, most notably a ferocious battle that raged on between Sepagus and Nieque during the pegasus' failed attempt at retaking the Cliffs. The ancestor stallions were not meant to live forever, though, and as they felt their newfound power waning each chose a mare to carry his child. They felt only hatred for the new kings leading their children, and disgust for the lack of faith these new generations held. Their colts would usher in an era of greatness, they believed, and so they left their seeds to grow as they returned again to mere ghosts haunting Isilme's outskirts.

Just after the departure of the Original Three, the pegasi finally completed their first quest and summoned a great phoenix atop the cliffs, higher up than the equine usurpers could ever reach. A fierce battle raged in the skies before the young colt Voltaic struck the killing blow against the bird, earning a burning feather from its plumage that blessed him with fiery wings. In rapid succession then two more caverns were revealed: one that began a quest to summon the arctic, slain by soon-to-be leader of the pegasi Morgue and one that summoned the mighty roc, slain by the white angel Arcadia. Still the pegasus herd remained weak however, and even with these triumphs beneath their wings they were homeless and hungry.

During another lull in the constant fighting, the foals sired by the Original Three were born. Unfortunately their mothers, forced against their will to bear these demigods, quickly abandoned the boys. Aarde, Cielo and Imiq struggled from the very beginning, and even as more faithful horses adopted the foals, the mere presence of such beings created a deep rift in Isilme's power structure.

iv. Unicorn Utopia

As the original foals grew, the fragile balance of power shifted in Isilme once again. Old Gideon succumbed to his age in the Cliffs, and rather than attempt to fight the restless pegasi his mate Amani Leila handed the territory back to Kri, a fiery young winged mare who led her comrades with nearly the same ferocity Naryl acted with years before. As for Naryl: she had fallen to the same illness that cursed her mate Azureus with frothing madness, and full of doubt their children fled Isilme. Nepdon, no longer so young, left Isilme altogether in search of some new purpose, and Sylvanas Windrunner gave the Mystic Woodlands over to the care of her most trusted warrior, the sly Querida. Even Gunslinger disappeared for a time, leaving the Tides in the capable care of a mare named Aera. Adalwulf, of course, remained, but with so many new faces in its history the land trembled in anticipation of great change.

Of course, it may have simply been trembling in anticipation of the power wielded by those young demi-gods now rambling across its fabric. They were brighter, stronger, faster than most other horses, and they grew far faster than any normal colts.

While Aarde, Imiq, and Cielo grew, a terrible sickness gripped the already weakened unicorns. They no longer existed even as a herd - just a batch of wanderers here and there, small enough in number to ignore. Gradually their coats grew dull and their eyes tired; the great sea dragon himself grew tired of their impotence and cursed them with illness. Eventually the white mare Karisma called them to order and led her few comrades to the beaches, where their water god confronted them and set upon them three tasks: a test of strength, a test of speed, a test of wisdom. As the son of Cinnoru, young Imiq stepped up to lead his kin to glory, but largely ignored he was forced to stand back and watch as a rogue called Alexis defeated the massive equine Misery in strength. Not to be bested, however, Imiq challenged the pegasus Eve to a race across Isilme, and with these two victories under their hooves the unicorn herd stepped up to solve the riddles posed to them by the great dragon himself. Cunning, after all, was Cinnoru's great strength; surely his children would pass the last test?

While the horned ones whispered amongst themselves, Adalwulf launched a failed takeover of his long-ago allies the Woodlands. He was driven back by Querida's forces which bolstered now by Oblivion's troops, who had been allowed to return with the promise that they would aid in protecting forest. The Demonking was content with worming his way in from the ground up, but alas his plans this time were to be thwarted: not long after Adalwulf failed to take the forest, Oblivion's own trusted warrior Nato turned upon the beast and sought to kill him. The skulled stallion met his demise in the return of Sylvanas, who slit his throat before running off to greet her kin on the beaches.

Sylvanas found the unicorns gathered alongside Nepdon, who had also returned from his travels to find his kindred weak and scattered. With his aid they solved the dragon god's riddles and were cured of their illness, and full of brash fire the Raidancer called for an attack on the Tides that had been stolen so long ago. They invaded the Moonlit Tides with more power than anticipated, and slowly Adalwulf's empire began to crumble beneath the white stallion's hooves. Indeed, even as the white stallion fought a young unicorn colt known as Brisingr, Nieque appeared to the Valley king and threatened him: to leave Isilme forever or suffer the death of his beloved green dragon. Nieque was not interested in the Tides; he was interested in seeing his son come to power, and thus far young Aarde was far overshadowed by the old king. With little choice left to him Adalwulf fled from Isilme, and as the unicorns stepped back into their old home Nepdon stepped down, too, willingly handing over leadership to young Imiq. Soon after Cielo worked his way to leadership of the Cliffs herd after months of slowly gaining Kri's respect. So the sons of the Originals came to power, and so began months of terror and despair.

v. Rise and Fall

Not one of the young stallions now leading Isilme's herds had any experience aside from the memories imparted to them by their sires. They were young and bold and violent, and in answer to their very presence hatred bloomed in the hearts of Isilme's populace. The herds were torn: some trusted these strange young stallions while others openly abhorred and slandered them. The new rulers proved brutal; they waged wars upon each other that shook the earth, that tore apart the very fabric of Isilme's lovely face. None now recall who dealt the first strike, only that in time all races turned against the others, and even those who wanted no part in the fighting were forced to struggle just to survive. Magic tore through the land, destroying the Emerald Valley and the northern territories, and as all the herds rose up against each other for the second time, in a battle known as the Morning War, the gods looked down upon them in despair.

Then came the darkness.

It did not come as before: days long, impenetrable and terrifying. Instead it leapt upon them in the heat of battle, dropping warriors where they stood with sweat frothed across their flanks and blood pouring from their jagged wounds. The moment Aarde, Cielo and Imiq met in battle their magic sundered the land as not even that of their fathers had done, and the moment the three young stallions fell so fell their commanders and their children. So fell the young and old, weak and strong. The teeming magic unleashed from the bodies of these young demigods sundered the red mountains to the north, whipped up the ocean to a frenzy, and shook the earth. And all living creatures blacked out, fell to the ground as if dead.

Those who awoke faced a new world altogether.

In many ways it was the same Isilme they knew: the Tome Guardian's castle still remained untouched, and the barren scoop of land that had once been the Valley retained its sweeping contours. But much that was green was now brown, and much that had once been hollow now flooded and sprang to life. The Skeleton Pit grew in size as the survivors disposed of their dead, and many of the herds found new places to call home. The land had survived two disasters, but only just. Rebuilding would take time, and although it wasn't yet apparent, the damage was far deeper than mere physical scars.

GODS & MAGIC

There are 6 possible elements in Isilme, given by the specified ruling Gods

THE FOX, GOD OF LIGHT
The embodiment of light, this god often shapes itself as a fox when appearing to mortals, but glows so brightly that even still it is difficult to look upon. The Fox often speaks with kindness and gentleness, so is often referred to as being female. The Fox tends to prefer to communicate through telepathic thoughts, and is known for giving aid and assistance to other, particularly those with a good heart.
- The Fox gave some magic to members of the Peaceful Pony Group to help support their quest of peace.

THE PANTHER, GOD OF DARK
The embodiment of darkness, this god often shapes itself as a panther when appearing to mortals, but is so devoid of shades that even still it difficult to look upon. The Panther is known for being deceitful and tricky, granting prizes for a price, and often not as expected. Seen as the opposite and opponent of The Fox, The Panther is believed to be male, and said to be rather cruel and often whispering lies into the ears of those who sleep to promote war and hate.

THE BEAR, GOD OF EARTH
Thought to be the god most fond of the mortals, The Bear would often remain among them appearing as an ordinary woodland creature, most often a bear, moving through the woods. At times The Bear would appear more fantastic, being adorned in abnormal colors or plant life growing on its animal form. The Bear has never been known to speak with mortals, but will often try to aid them and communicate with them in other ways, usually leading them towards something. The Bear is thought to be a sign of good luck if seen and is known for helping all.

THE ELK, GOD OF WIND
Another god fond of the mortals is The Elk, perhaps one of the most illusive of the deities as The Elk rarely appears as anything but the wind. At times when The Elk does wish to be seen however, it chooses to appear as an antlered elk, usually racing along the breeze or storms with a barely discernible shape. The Elk is thought to be mischievous and playful for a god, and like The Bear, rather quiet when communicating vocally with mortals.

THE DRAGON, GOD OF WATER
Creator of the rivers and the ocean and usually made into visible form by them, The Dragon often is not seen anywhere but a realm of water. It usually keeps its body coiled like waves and its teeth like sea foam, speaking with a wise and bellowing voice to its mortal children. The Dragon can be a rather unforgiving god and tends to be extreme on either end, providing both great rewards and punishment. Thought to be incredibly wise, any advice given by The Dragon should be well valued.

THE PHOENIX, GOD OF FIRE
Not often seen among the mortals, The Phoenix prefers to remain more involved in the heavenly politics, trying to maintain balance among the deities. The Phoenix is thought to be very mighty and crafty, but is known to have a temper and to be easily swayed by others if the right words are spoken. It's believed that thought the other elements make up much of the world, that it is only The Phoenix that can truly give life to something, and that in doing so it always creates the dual nature of mortals with good and evil, light and dark, as fire is due to cast a warm glow and shed a dark shadow.

- Of these 6 elements, a user can hold up to 2 permanently, and up to 3 temporarily (items).
- Equines may hold 1 permanently, and up to 2 temporarily (items).
- An Equine cannot have a water or wind element, a Pegasus cannot have an earth or water element and a unicorn cannot have an earth or wind element. The only exception is a hybrid character or a hybrid ability (excluding a hybrid ability where both elements which can't be used are present i.e. a pegasus can have a water/fire hybrid ability, but cannot have an earth/water hybrid ability).
- You cannot have a duel element hybrid (fire/fire), but you can have 2 abilities of the same element.

- Each element has a certain weakness to another, along with a certain strength.
light > dark > earth > wind > water > fire > light
Here is a strength/weakness chart made by Neo. Pick your element/hybrid on the left row and compare against the top row.

- In battle magic can be used for 2 attacks total (unless told otherwise on the magic/item restriction page). Any more will result in penalties.
- Note the abilities below are not at all limitations, but simple, generic ideas. If You have a hybrid in mind, depending on its characteristics, will depend on which 2 elements it belongs to. If you're unsure ask an admin.

LEGENDS

CINNORU "victory by my horn"

Jello88 | DiscordiaStock | by Con

The first Unicorn, he was made by The Dragon god, molded from the seas where he would call his home upon the Tides. True to his god Cinnoru was very clever, an asset that helped make up for his otherwise thin and dainty frame. He was built like an Arabian, meant for endurance and speed and little in strength or fortitude. He was made a pristine white, but his eyes and horn were drenched in an icy blue. A pale beard hung from his chin and his horn burrowed from his 'brow as a straight spear twisted about itself. His hooves were split in two to help him walk his beach sands and his tail a lion's whip to better avoid tangling in the sea. He could control all variants of water magic, and was best known for producing the first rain and filling the rest of Isilme with rivers and lakes to feed the lands.

He later birthed Imiq, in a brief moment where his phantom was able to return to a mortal plane. He took the willing mare Zuriel to birth his heir. Imiq bore nearly the same traits as Cinnoru, but was colored violet instead and led his army in the Morning War that destroyed Isilme a second time over, birthing Isilme.Anarore.

NIEQUE "with hoof I rule"

SandsibStock | AmathorStock | by Mary

The first Equine, he was made by The Bear god, molded from the boulders and the hills where he would call his home upon the Valley. True to his god Nieque was very strong, but he lacked the cunning of his fellow originals. He was built like a draft, meant for power and force rather than agility or speed. He was made a pale white, but his eyes were of gold. Nieque was the first to bond to a dragon, said to have talked with one in the woods for days before finally sealing the bond and enabling it for the rest of his kin there on. He could control all variants of earth magic, and was best known for scultping the terrain of Isilme.

He later birthed Aarde, in a brief moment where his phantom was able to return to a mortal plane. He took the mare Tariyenda to birth his heir. Aarde bore nearly the same traits as Nieque, but was colored bronze instead and led his army in the Morning War that destroyed Isilme a second time over, birthing Isilme.Anarore.

SEPAGUS "on wings I conquer"

ArtHotrix-stock | Demue | by Snowwy

The first Pegasus, he was made by The Elk god, molded from the winds where he would call his home upon the Cliffs. True to his god Sepagus was very swift, but like the weather was often unpredictable. He was built like a mustang, meant for quickness and hardiness rather than brute force or elegance. He was made alabaster as a cloud, but his eyes and primary feathers were a rich green. His mane and tail were short and thin, to keep from being tangled by the wind, and his hooves hard and whole to last against the rocks of his home. He could control all variants of wind magic, and was best known for influencing the weather patterns of Isilme.

He later birthed Cielo, in a brief moment where his phantom was able to return to a mortal plane. He took the unwilling mare Kri to birth his heir. Cielo bore nearly the same traits as Sepagus, but was colored crimson instead and led his army in the Morning War that destroyed Isilme a second time over, birthing Isilme.Anarore.

TOME GUARDIAN

AlzirrSwanheartStock | cyborgsuzystock | Colourize-Stock | Xovoire | PSauburnchick12 | by Pesti

When the gods looked down upon their original three and saw that the once brotherly affection between them had shifted towards selfish desires for each other's lands and mares, causing fighting to break out between the herds, the heavenly parents sought to placate their mortal children. They crafted a version of all three of the species, devoid of any color but white, and capable of wielding any magic. They sent him to the land below to unite Cinnoru, Nieque and Sepagus, giving him the Woodlands as his home. This new creation, this tribrid, did manage to unite them for a time. Together the original three set upon the fourth, ripping a wing from his back, cracking his horn in two and slaying his dragon.

Furiously the gods looked on, but as the soul rose they condemned it back to the mortal plane, setting it in limbo between the dimensions of the living and the dead, forever cursed to serve the mortals on their behalf. In their disgust the gods turned away and the original three destroyed each other and their home.

Isilme rebuilt slowly and the original three haunted the Hollow Manor, the new home of the fourth who came to be known as the Tome Guardian. The magical gifts of the gods returned slowly to the mortal children, enabled by the remaining power within the Tome Guardian and his knowledge given with an eternal life and a cruel understanding. He was forever bitter about his fate and often lashed out at those who sought his aid, but for those wise enough to realize, all his quests contained a valuable lesson. Ultimately he wished to keep those he served from falling back into greed and hatred, but he could only watch as he continually failed, each horse preferring their magic over his teachings.

Haha I just found some original Isilme news posts randomly on my google drive! Had to share for sake of nostalgia~ However I am far too lazy to go in and format it properly @.@ All character names were bolded, some things were links (like 'here') which don't work any more anyway etc.

National Hangover Day 1 Jan 2010, 1:04am by Blu

The Weather:

SPRING - 13
Snow has begun to recede, leaving the world in a melting mush of reawakening. Beneath the frozen land, sparks of life are seen once more in the form of green shoots and budding seeds. Even some of the familiar cries of animals since slumbering or vacationing begin to fill the air. Spirits seem bright and the body fresh and loose. Hope has returned, and with it a small fragment of peace.

NEO SAYS Word of the Month is STRUDEL

Equine Valley: With the invasion of the Cliffs successful Adalwulf calls a herd meeting to hand out some ranks. Amidst the meeting a pouting Misery and a condescending Tariyenda begin to argue and are on the verge of battle. Namid has given birth to a hermaphrodite foal out of Oblivion and is currently tryin to defend its life from the DemonKing. Nieque was still displeased with Adalwulf, so the leader returns to the Cliffs to fight with Zodiac to once and for all clear his name.

Mystic Woodlands: The fermented apple escapades continue with Sylvanas Windrunner, Nato and Querida. Many newcomers seem to be drifting to these old woods, breathing new life into them. Nato proves his loyalty as he leads a decieved Oblivion into an ambush in the attempts to kill the old Woodland enemy.

Pegasus Cliffs: Invaded by the Valley the entire herd was booted out to be outcasts, and Gideon and Amani Leila placed as leaders. Some of the pegasus didn't take this so easy however, as Voltaic, Zodiac and Angel Feather harass and attack the new leaders. Meanwhile Morgue is having problems uniting the fragments of the pegasus herd and even lost Angel Feather as she stalked off to raise her own army. The mighty phoenix was felled at last, granting a phoenix feather and thus fiery wings to Voltaic. The next chamber of the cave has been opened, revealing that a unicorn hair and purple pearl must now be required. Morgue, Voltaic and Arcadia set out to find these items.

Unicorn Tides: The battle for leadership rages on between Fajra and Nepdon while Zuriel finds herself in her own heated battle against a narwhal. Beloved continues to pose a problem and seems to have infatuated little Brisingr.

Peaceful Pony Group: The group has decided to rescue Aiedail from the goats and follow the Bear God to Dancesalot kingdom.

Equine Valley: Adalwulf succeeded in defeating Zodiac and has cleared his name. The king returns home very thoughtful and has begun bonding with his children and herd mates. Meanwhile Adlwulf's green dragon Nidhöggr produced a clutch of eggs from a previous breeding, and handed out a bronze one to Gunslinger after she considered him and Nattfari. Spars have exploded within the Valley, Gunslinger dominating most of the threads to serve as a partner. Misery is practicing her latest healing attributes and is wandering around making green, healing goop for anyone that wants it.

Mystic Woodlands: Love is in the air in the Woodlands as several partners and several seeking ladies romp to the Cape, including -deep breath- Alcippe, Zelda, Sylvanas Windrunner, Nepdon, Nato, and Querida. I want whatever they've been having, which is apparently fermented apples. Angel Feather has arrived to rescue the prisoner Morgue, but Nato has caught them and seems to be working out a deal. Aside from the sex spree the Woodlands have calmed and continue to grow.

Pegasus Cliffs: The rebellious pegasus were finally chased away by Gideon, Amani Leila, Sunchaser and Adalwulf, the last having defeated Zodiac in a heated battle. The numbers remain low here, but they have little threat with the previous inhabitants being so divided and injured.

Unicorn Tides: The unexpected challenge finally comes to an end with Nepdon rising victorious over the challenging, hot-headed Fajra who has now been banished from the Tides for her attempted throne-claiming. Meanwhile Nepdon has romped off to the cape with Sylvanas Windrunner and Karisma is on the hunt to break someone's heart.

Peaceful Pony Group: At Dancesalot Kingdom the rescue mission has arrived with Aysun, Angel feather and an odd servent of The Bear, a centaur named Atreyu They have begun to plot how to retrieve Aiedail from the sinister pygmy goats.

The Weather:

SPRING - 13
Spring is upon Isilme; the air is warm and heavy with moisture, the lands covered by the lush green grasses of new life. Everywhere, animals and plants alike are awake and active. The sun shines often in a clear blue sky, but every once in a while a real spring rain rolls in, drenching Isilme in torrents of water, the longest rains lasting for weeks.

» Dragon size chart! Blu made one and it can be found in the rules for dragons, in the items page for dragons or, for now, here.

» The Isilme Battle Championships are on the semi-finals now! Keep your fingers crossed Blu doesn't win both rounds, although it would be interesting to watch her fight herself.. ;D

» Gryphons have been voted in as the new, temporary Isilme species. They will be joinable after the pegasus plot has finished (we'll let you know)

» The pegasus plot is moving forward! Arcadia and Voltaic are in the Tides, looking for the next item/s to continue the plot!

» For the time being no Equines are being given magic (or questing for it) and light and dark abilities (including a light/dark hybrid) are being withheld.

» Goats are taking Isilme by storm! Aiedail the equine has been captured, what's to happen? It looks like the ppg may get their chance to shine at last - together with an odd servant of the Bear, a Centaur called Atreyu. And what's this? The goats are trying to kidnap more! Watch out.

» If you cannot get into the Species Specific lands please PM an admin.

» Isilme loves you.

Equine Valley: Many new members are rolling in, increasing the Valley's size. Aera gave birth to Fardray, Gunslinger acts as a sparring teacher to everyone who desires is, and is currently involved in a blind-spar with Aysun. Gunslinger's bronze dragon has successfully hatched.

Mystic Woodlands: The fermented apples madness is over, resulting in Sylvanas and Querida both being pregnant, with Nepdon and Nato.. Oh wait that was gramatically incorrect but, eh - Alcippe seems like she'll get some Wulfloving. Isabella came to greet Xenos in the Woodlands, which resulted in Sylvanas showing up and being quite not-herself. Morgue is still hell-bent on escaping, but is currently being denied freedom by Sylvanas and Saskia. Also Nyx is bonding with Xenos, and what's this, Voltaic came to see her? Keep that a secret from Sylv or someone might lose their balls.

Pegasus Cliffs: Cliffs activity remains low, but is picking up - Isabella has started to make trips to the Gateway, but what's this, she might leave for the Woodlands to be with her friend Xenos? In the meanwhile, Sunchaser is busy fornicating with the Outcast and womanizer Kinderfeld.

Unicorn Tides: Zuriel defeated a Narwhal King, and was granted with a God Title and a crown of horns - she's resting up in the Creek, together with Nepdon, whom recently sired his first heir, carried in the womb of Sylvanas. And what's this, the Outcasts Voltaic and Arcadia are on the beach, doing suspicious things? Uh oh. Speaking of suspicious things, Apoplexy and Khirian headed off to the Cape, and the former seems to have found a mare called Jea to carry his child. Glory has returned to the beach, and new members keep pouring in.

Peaceful Pony Group: At Dancesalot Kingdom the rescue mission has arrived with Aysun, Angel feather and an odd servent of The Bear, a centaur named Atreyu They have begun to plot how to retrieve Aiedail from the sinister pygmy goats.

This is a timeline I created to help determine accurate ages of characters not only on Helovia, but those on Helovia who also came from Isilme too.

12 months = 1 OOC year
8 months = 1 IC year

For the dates of the seasons, you can assume it always starts the first day of month listed and ends the last day of the other month listed. If it did not, a specific day will be noted.
