Do not fear my child - Nyu - 08-15-2017 Nyu woke up on the forest floor surrounded by oddly colored plants. Her pink eyes opened and the world came into view. Everything was bright and colorful but the sky lacked a sun. It was almost creepy the way the lights twinkled yet the sky remained dark. Cold. She was freezing. Nyu turned to touch her bright white sides and got her nose wet. Grooooooossssssss! She wrinkled her nose. Suddenly her head began to throb. She had knocked it on a tree branch, maybe thats what made her pass out. She got to her feet clumsily and looked around. "Hello?" a childish voice rang out. Nyu felt alone but she wasn't afraid. Rain soaked her coat as she made her way between the trees keeping an eye out for anyone else. OOC: I would like her to be a foreigner that fell through the portal. I want her to join with a magic that gives her invisible tenticles that can be used to do anything however they are limited by length. (if possible I would really like this magic to stay the same due to her plot and the character she is based on.) She has a small silver dagger for an item strapped around her using vines. The rift is welcome to add any mutations it desires. RE: Do not fear my child - Rift Presence - 08-16-2017 the Rift
Darkness. And then searing, blinding, neon light. Welcome to the Rift, young one. These shadows have found you a particular delicacy. | ACCEPTANCE NOTES : NYU | Magic: Long, slender, shadowed tongues find some odd semblance in the tentacles of your magic. And so they consume it, leaving stinging saliva on your soul in their wake. RE: Do not fear my child - Nyu - 08-17-2017 Nyu walks carefully through the brush and stares into each pair of red eyes looking back into her own albino ones. Something inside her didn't feel quite right. She didn't know if it was just that sick gut feeling of every eye watching you and only you, or something deeper, something worse, inside her soul. Suddenly, large pink neon leaves to the left rustled. Nyu panicked and got down low and began to use her magic tentacles to grab the blade that sat on her shoulder held by vines. Nyu had a firm grasp on it and pointed it straight out. Huh? The blade still remained perfectly nestled in her vines. She tried again and again to pull out the dagger but it was to no avail. That's when the pain became more intense. Someone or something was burning her soul alive devouring her magic. Nyu knew she would make it through with time and healing but she didn't know what potential danger was just behind those large leaves. She jumped over a log to hide behind it and fell straight into mud, turning her perfect white coat into a brown tobiano. Her breathing was fast and panicked. If she couldn't use her blade or her magic she was not going to survive this strange new world. Nyu began to cry quietly saying her goodbyes to herself, overreacting like most young fillys do. Nyu was all alone, and something was coming; she had nowhere to run. @ anyone! Help with name: Nyu is said sounding like "New" ^-^ RE: Do not fear my child - Luminar - 08-17-2017
RE: Do not fear my child - Nyu - 08-18-2017 She heard someone say something. "Get over!" (Translation: Get it over with.) the young filly shouted. She felt vulnerable and afraid. Her muscles tensed and shook. Then Nyu looked up. There was another stallion looking down at her. He was giant. Huge feathers drooped into the mud that she landed in. She traced their origin all the way up to his chest. It was thickly muscled but filled with cuts and gashes. Her eyes continued upward to a braided mane it had bits of silver woven throughout. Then she got to his face. She wished she hadn't looked. It wasnt the fact that he was ugly that made her wish she hadn't looked, oh no. It was his eyes. They were the most amazing thing she'd ever seen but at the same time they were the most terrifying thing she'd ever seen. Nyu felt like if she looked at them too long that she would fall in. "H-hi." she managed to let out shyly. He looked gentle and caring so she had begun to get more comfortable with his presence and ceased her violent shaking. "Nyu." She spoke aloud in a baby-like tone. She may have just turned 2 but her childish-like demeanor would remain with her for a long time. She was prone to single word answers, not knowing how to fully communicate to others. If she couldn't find a single word answer in her tiny dictionary, she would simply say "Nyu". And for that very reason, her mother named her Nyu. Nyu's nose gently stretched out toward the large man's wounds. She wished she could make them better but she didn't know how. Just before she was going to touch one, a drop of blood fell and stained red on her light pink muzzle. "Hurt?" she questioned with a sad look on her face. @Luminar RE: Do not fear my child - Luminar - 08-18-2017
@Nyu RE: Do not fear my child - Nyu - 08-19-2017 Nyu slowly wobbled to her hooves to get a closer look at the big man's scar. It was old, that was true, but Nyu still felt like it pained him somehow; physically or emotionally, she didn't know. "Tell?" she asked while tilting her head for inquiry. She didn't know if she would like to hear the answer, but she certainly was curious. Lucky for her the mud would never crust like cement on her pure white coat. It would be gone in only a few hours thanks to a eternal rain. Nyu shivered noticeably. It was too cold for her to be wet and not have a sun to help her stay warm. She began to question herself again if she would even make it through this world to adulthood. Maybe this stallion would help her? He seemed big and strong; very capable of taking good care of himself. His hide was as different as night and day from hers but yet she seemed to be attracted to their odd differences. She met his eyes again but this time she didn't feel as frightened. She knew him a little better now and his gentle demeanor is what brought her at peace with him. Nyu shook her white coat and flecks of mud came off with it, returning from where it came and revealing her bright coat once more. @Luminar RE: Do not fear my child - Luminar - 08-19-2017
RE: Do not fear my child - Nyu - 08-21-2017 Nyu's ears fell back to the stern tone in his voice. Whatever happened it obviously pained him to talk about it. He became so defensive so sudden. Her mind worked around his words, breaking them down and putting them back together again as if that would make it any easier to recall her past. She stayed silent for a long moment, contemplating an arrangement of words that might tell him about herself. Not after too long she let out a sigh and lowered her head. "Don't remember.." she sighed out. "Head hurt.." Nyu explained. All she rightfully remembered was waking up on the forest floor with a headache and a log directly in front of her. She leaned her head sideways to move her barely pink tinted mane out of the way of her face. Her red eyes met with his again. She stared in amazement, it almost seemed like each time she looked at them they were the same but somehow different. When she revealed her head to him there was a tiny bloody red mark placed just under her two horns that were also revealed. However some could argue that they couldn't even be called horns considering that they were undeveloped and mere fuzzy lumps upon her head. Usually, revealing these "horns" is what caused her to lose friendships. She was called many names and often made fun of. This could very well be why her social skills aren't that developed for her at the age of 2 as she's never had to use them because shes been alone all her life. She lowered her head, ashamed she had even shown him. He'll probably leave me all alone now... Please don't go mister.. Quietly and almost sadly she said, "Name, Nyu." She wanted him to leave so he wouldn't stare at her ugliness anymore but more than her wish for him to leave, she wished him to stay with her. @Luminar RE: Do not fear my child - Luminar - 08-21-2017
