Please note that currently, only Roamers may start trials! OOC Accounts and Newcomers will get an error message if they try to access the page. :) Trials will not make you eligible to bond to a companion, or receive more magic, if you do not have the necessary Rift Force for it. Trials are basically our equivalent of Helovia quests - a trial is composed of a prompt (which may or may not be an uncomfortable one; even if it only harasses you and does not acknowledge that you 'ask' for anything, you will still be rewarded at the end), and a series of tasks, varying between 1 and 3. Tasks are of different nature and complexity, and the best part is that what you get is a, instant and b, totally random! We're always looking for more tasks, and more prompts, so please visit this thread and help us out! So, how does it work? On the character you wish to start the trial on, visit the Trials page in the User CP and click "Start one here". This will take you to a new page, with a form to fill out - what is the reward you seek from the trial? This can be more in-depth than a magic description typically is, as it's more of a guideline to the admin, but keep in mind you can only ask for one thing at a time. You cannot change the reward once you have begun the trial. This is where you pray to your dice gods, or sacrifice something in their name! Type in what you're after, click "start trial", and either you'll be told you were unlucky and didn't get a trial, or you'll get one! You can be on a maximum of 2 active trials at any given time, and must wait 4 weeks between starting/attempting to start trials. You will monitor, and submit, your trial progress via the "Manage" tab (visible once you have an active trial). Basically, you'll be logging all your relevant threads! When the task is done, you click the "Finish Trial" button on the Manage tab, which alerts staff that your trial is ready to be reviewed! In the next few days, you'll be able to see a character's trials on their profile page. :) |
