x Breed | Campolina x Andalusian
x Height | Mature 15hh x Species | Pegasus x Wings | Black feathers above and white underneath, and a dapple grey arm; primary feathers will shimmer with the colors and elements of the Gods: Sun, Spark, Earth, and Moon. The feathers will look like they are made of glass, with the element trapped within, but to the touch they are normal feathers x Eyes | Light, golden x Mane | Dark grey, fading to white tips; split, falling equally left and right; no longer than half the width of her neck; fine and silky x Tail | White, with golden tips; long, fine and silky x Body | Black nose, white face; black ears, poll and neck; fading to dapple grey shoulders, wing joint and forelegs; gold spray around her belly and waist (masking where dappled grey fades to white); white hind legs and hindquarters x Hooves | Black; hind-right is golden Zahra sports the same large sculpted head carried by her mother and portrays the bright eyes and kindly expression synonymous with her part-Andalusian heritage. Similarly, she has a deep, short-coupled body (a compact, well-muscled trunk), with a sloping topline. Her neck is well arched, muscular and properly proportioned (a cross between both parents – lacking the bulk of the Andalusian but not quite as thin as the Campolina); the mane splits to drape halfway down either side of its length, and like the forelock, is soft, fine and silky. Her tail is low-set, long, fine, and also silky. Her legs are fashioned with well-defined tendons and strong, thick joints and their action is not springy. She has a smaller presence than her mother, and the characteristic smooth, ambling gait of her father’s Campolina bloodline. Zahra is agile, swift on her feet, but not quite as nimble as her mother. Poor speed is an issue, but her strength and endurance are moderate. After falling to the Rift, the amulets she carried whispered from existence leaving behind a Helovian legacy, in her appearance. "Your amulets whisper out of existence, so soft and silent that you barely notice that they're gone. Nothing will happen for the rest of the day, but from tomorrow and on, your primary feathers will shimmer with the colors and elements of the Gods: Sun, Spark, Earth, and Moon. The feathers will look like they are made of glass, with the element trapped within, but to the touch they are normal feathers." |
Birth - The Rift: Year 1173
From birth, there was a natural innocence and naivety about Zahra. She lived in the moment, acting spontaneously, without concern for consequence, and was quite fearless when it came to going after what fascinated her. Because she was not yet restrained by the pressures and demands of Helovian life, she was able to see and experience the world from an entirely different perspective to that of her parents and many other adults.
Exceptionally curious, Zahra’s perceptive eye was drawn to fine detail - especially the intricacies of an ever-shifting, exquisite natural world. She had the same vivid imagination which her mother possessed, and this presented a wonderful world, far greater still, than the one which surrounded her. It offered an escape that too often, can only found during sleep - in dreams. Her interest and desire to learn shaped a sociable child who was predominantly unafraid of others. Her mind held brilliantly a bank of memories that even from a very young age, she enjoyed weaving stories with; this was easily among her most curious and charming qualities. At a meagre four months old, externally, Zahra still presented the same blissfully innocent facade - for only a short time had she walked the cursed path of the living. The impressionableness and genuine vulnerability of youth remained as steady as her uncannily mature resolve (a babe ripped from the ignorance of her childhood). She bore a sound temperament and light mood, manners deep-rooted, and burning, aching compassion; so too did her tongue and conduct reflect all of the qualities embedded by her parents during the small window of life they had shared together. She was a star, bold and shimmering, the perfect combination of Gallant and Starry-Eyed, but behind the spangle was hidden the most underserved of pains - loneliness and grief. Her dreams, once filled with love and beauty, writhed as confusing nightmares, all tortured. Though the trauma was erased, visions of destruction, of torn flesh, gnashing teeth and splashing blood, stained the deepest recess of her soul; the cold, lifeless face of death would forever more scar her conscience. Perhaps those lost memories might return some fateful day… A lot has changed since the giddy jubilance of youth. Innocence and sincerity have been lost beneath tides of mental torture, while giggles and games have been swapped for brooding silence and solitude. She has witnessed much in a very short time, but through the eyes of her mother; memories instilled, enchanted, buried beneath a wad of cotton wool for safe keeping – but the bandaid intended has come loose. Hurt, darkness, bleeds through her soul to sour all sweetness and hinder memory of brighter times. She is evolving though, growing… There is an unquestionable genetic contribution to her psychological instability; throughout her own life, Africa suffered depressive episodes during which she partook in self-harming behaviour (plucking). Such a horrifically turbulent first year and this hereditary influence, have combined to spur the onset of bipolar disorder which severely affects both her energy and mood. Spanning days or even months, her depressive episodes consist of low mood, hopelessness, extreme depression and lack of interest or pleasure in things. In contrast and lasting the same variable amounts of time, manic or hypomanic episodes can present in forms like excessively high mood and activity (or agitation), racing thoughts, little need for sleep and rapid speech. Years have been spent brewing in a thick stew of solitude and suffering, decaying all positivity, nurturing a colder natured beast. Hope and vitality, optimism and care, fall to the wayside and soon are forgotten; in their wake broods shrewd hostility, slyness, and a dislike for life - for others. When the Rift fails to save her, destroy her, a new era begins and the daughter of light and land, feather and gold, emerges as something more erratic than ever she was before, secretive; self-destructive and severely bipolar. Scared and apprehensive, her frayed nervous system is at the mercy of two lifetimes worth of trauma and suffering. Though fear has controlled her existence thus far, and provoked the safe preference for complete isolation, the reintroduction of a father figure (and someone she could perhaps rely upon outside of her bond), has provided a new feeling of confidence - albeit, brittle like late winter’s frost on the water. Learning like a child would, to adapt to shifting environments, and more or less reacquainting herself with the world, she is discovering the beauty in the Rift’s unpredictable and heathenistic wilderness. Creative and imaginative, she has always found peace and happiness in her art-form, fashioning delicate drapery and sowing together pretty gold-silken artefacts. Where once those soft fabrics had been crafted in vain (she had not the capacity to defend from conniving thieves, or even make use of so many), there is fresh motivation and new purpose - to serve community and fulfil her own yearning for aesthetic perfection. Sensuality, inherently, she desires physical connection easily as much as her aching want for the same mentally. As a child, touch became a form of expression, kindness and play, and after the loss of her family, and that fleshly stimulation, she instead coveted the demonstrative relationships displayed by others.

Helovia: Tallsun Five - Orangemoon Eight (click)
In the middle of the second night of Tallsun, year five, nestled together in the golden cave crafted by the Gallant himself, a little foal was born to devoted and loving parents. For many months she dwelled peacefully and uneventfully in the kingdom guarded by her father - overseen by their beloved Earth - learning, blossoming, revelling in the blissful innocence of infancy.
There is no such thing as peace and happiness, however, in a world corrupted by vain greed and desperate for power. Though it was beyond her power to conceive, the cold unicorns of the north captured her father and locked him cruelly away; it was during this imprisonment that the Earth called for his ascended son to come home, and thus marked the end of the gilt stallion’s life. Chaos descended hopelessly upon all that he’d loved… Africa sent their tiny daughter from the borders of Hidden Falls as the armies of World’s Edge and Aurora Basin amassed on their home. War was imminent, and as the young, impressionable filly fled alone through the undergrowth, she witnessed first hand, violence and suffered at the grim hand of terror, for the very first time. Though her mother told her to find Deep Forest and hide there, Zahra could not recall the way and found refuge beneath the roots of an old tree in Thistle Meadow. It was there that she discovered a strange orb, an egg, which hatched soon after into the body of a small pup and the young filly found comfort in the helpless creature’s company. It was at this point too that, a young, brave colt called Zèklè (Zero the hero), captured her heart. Yet without her mother, and oblivious to the passing of her father, the foal remained in the Thistle Meadow,. In a dream, Midas visited his daughter for the last time. It was both a tragic and beautiful reunion. After discovering the death of her lover, Africa - with mortal wounds and a broken heart - also fled the Hidden Falls, which had fallen at the had of the savages (and for what? the Sunshower returned to the Moon regardless). She sought her daughter in the forest, bringing a collection of her lover’s precious possessions, though hid them for Zahra to find at a later date. Together mother and child pressed north - Africa was losing her mind. In the freezing, frozen wilderness (well suited to the character of its inhabitants), the Starry-Eyed’s body, maimed and weakening, could scarcely cope, but she pushed forward on a delirious quest to see the Gallant one last time. Bacteria was spreading through her bloodstream, starving her organs of oxygen and as her thoughts teetered on the brink of reality, they discovered a golden stallion, Thranduil; the thief with many faces. As her life ebbed away, the broken mare installed a lifetime of memories into the reservoir of her daughter - the good and the bad - and smoothed a frail blanket of lies above (robbing away their own bond in the process). Zahra, now oblivious to any of the ordeal, leaves the morbid scene with her mother’s leather bag and slips down into the southern skirt of Frozen Arch. Long after, the frail child and her kitsune found the Deep Forest. In turn, the filly recalled the memory of a set of items being buried beneath the old trees (though not that her mother had been the one to place them), and began to search; she found many items once owned by her father (trinkets too in the bag that she carried) - enchanted charms, feathers, amulets, the old, war-beaten, magical collar and the Gallant’s clever spear. Years passed and daughter of the fallen ones grew. Imbued with supernatural power since birth, she honed her skills by crafting golden-threaded garments, woven with the silk of her cherished spidering companion; so too did she learn the art of healing, with gilt blood that possessed a magical quality. In the depths of the same forest, she and her ‘sisters’ built a cosy web den, and this became their home until the return of Ashamin who they’d once helped. When the tender-hearted stallion bid for them to accompany him home, to the Basin, Zahra felt inclined to agree - and so, by some twisted hand of fate, the daughter of Africa and Midas fell beneath the ranks of the kingdom who had robbed her of parents. However, the horned-ones and their cold world did little to foster the yearling’s young heart, and soon she returned to the dank web nest where her mind - and the tangle of lies within it - began to decay. x Darwin’s Bark Spider x Born 15.05.2015 x Aloof | Creative | Loyal | Enigmatic No larger than two centimetres across, this female, round orb-weaver looks at first glance like mere bark on a tree, a dead leaf or even dried lichen. Her hue is pasty, mottled with mahogany brown – bars of the same down each hairy leg. Darwin's Bark Spiders like to build their webs across bodies of water. Standing on one side of a river or lake, they release a thread of silk into the breeze and keep going until it catches onto a twig or leaf on the other side – sometimes three metres worth. These mighty bridge lines serve as the frame for the rest of the web, which is suspended beneath. The web proper is traditional with its spokes and spirals and the biggest habitually take up areas of thirty square feet, more than any other web in the world. Note about silk Zahra’s unique companion, the Darwin’s Bark Spider (Caerostris darwini) has the toughest silk ever seen — more than twice as tough as any previously described silk, and more than 10 times stronger than Kevlar which is synthetic. x Common Female Inari Kitsune x Born 02.04.2015 x Sociable | Greedy | Intelligent | Brave Kitsune are fox-like creatures, often with multiple tails. They are known for intelligence and magical abilities and are born as pups with little colouration. There are two types of kitsune: the Inari, benevolent foxes, and the Yako, malicious or mischievous foxes. Hanna is a little larger in build than the common arctic fox and sports four luxuriant tails. Her coat is crisp white with golden points and markings. Her toes are golden with black claws. Each tail-tip is also golden, as is the fur (like eyeliner) around her eyes, cheeks and the tips of her triangle ears. She has long white whiskers to either side of her small black nose, and down the centre of her forehead is a gold diamond shape marking, widest along her brow line and ending no further down her nose than her bright green eyes. |
x ‘Spider Silk Necklace’ | A fine, loose fitting necklace spun from Darwin’s Bark Spider Silk that hangs around the middle-area of her neck. Upon it are sown the following collection of beloved charms and feathers -
x A bronze branch charm that emits continuous black fog. x A green leaf charm that glowed green in darkness before the Rift (currently just a leaf charm). Given to Midas after the great flood by the God of the Earth. x Midas’s white feathers x 5 x Fina’s Phoenix feathers x 2 (1x Returned to Eleos here) x Neve’s Arctic Zephyr feathers x 2 x Silas’ Roc Zephyr feather x African Grey parrot tail feather x Windwalker’s feather (black on top, white underneath) x Two feathers plucked by Africa and turned to gold by Midas as a symbol of hope and regeneration. Zahra wears them threaded into the top of her mane with spider-silk; a small handful of hair pulled to the left-side. Crafts: x 1x Tiny plush Phoenix here, and given to Eleos here x 2x Pinus Amblo skin drawstring bags here. One given to Eleos here, the other she keeps for herself. |
