Hi everyone! Got a question for you all, would love to hear your thoughts about this :)

At roughly what age do you feel it's reasonable for foals to begin flying? Considering bone structure, muscle mass, the size of wings and the development of flight feathers etc. I feel it would be a bit strange for them to flap around when newborn, but what do you guys think?
i always say they probably start learning/flapping around between 8 months - 1 year, but thats for some unsteady flight bc they aren't 100% developed yet, and it improves as they grow and get older
I usually do 1 year. Birds themselves actually grow very quickly, but factor in the horse part and it'd slow it down. I don't really consider them good fliers until 2 though.

Given that they begin talking in like .. thread 2, I am far more lenient when it comes to when they fly. Like Blu, I don't think they're really accomplished fliers until they're older, but I'm happy to have them glide around when they're still youngins.
